Jack Sparrow vs. Indiana Jones
Well, as it turned out, the Grudgemaster won his grudgematch against finals. He was left bloody, bruised, and scarred--but victorious nonetheless. And besides, chicks dig scars, right?
Hopefully the grudge will start to get back on track here. Today's Grudgematch features two heroes of the modern classic variety. It's the swaggering, staggering, seafaring swashbuckler versus the audacious, agile, adventuring archeologist.
It's Captain Jack Sparrow vs. Indiana Jones.

I am definitely coming out in favor of Indiana Jones. First, I don't think Jack Sparrow is really that tough. Cool? Perhaps. Good looking? Can't say; the husband will be reading this post. But, Jack tends to get out of trouble not so much by fighting and being tough as by tricking people (and misusing his friends, which I cannot approve). Indiana, on the other hand, has shown his mastery of a variety of fighting skills -- whips, swords, guns, fists, spinning airplane propellers, etc. -- and could also probably outwit Jack.
Second, and most importantly, Jack Sparrow is pretty selfish in his motives, and he is rather untrustworthy. Indiana Jones, on the other hand, has truly noble intentions, including, of course, a desire to preserve the world's precious archeological artifacts. So, I think that Indiana would have the cause of righteousness on his side, which is always beneficial.
I guess we still have the third installment of Pirates to see if Jack defeats that big monster thingy, but for now, I'm going with Indiana.
Is this one even a serious debate? Indiana Jones beats everyone, especially a Keith Richards-aping pirate.
Actually, if you put it to me, I really can't think of any match Indiana Jones wouldn't win.
Definitely Indy. Any movie that has a heart ripped out by hand wins hands down. Talk about scarred for life. Not the dude who got the heart ripped out. The poor kid viewer who had to watch that and has it ingrained in his memory forever. That is, me.
Let me set up the scenario: Jack Sparrow wants the treasure for himself; Indiana Jones wants it for a museum. The clever and slippery pirate pitted against the noble minded and brave professor. I am leaning towards the clever and slippery Jack Sparrow. Here is why: Indiana Jones has never faced an opponent like Jack. Most of Indiana’s enemies are blundering hacks. There has rarely been a competent foe in the bunch: Nazis who think that finding the Arc is going to give them immortality; muscle bound dolts who make the mistake of fighting near spinning blades; psychotic idol worshiping priests with a large following of grunts who don’t think to drop their weapons and grab onto the rope when someone cuts the bridge with a machete; and rich Americans who get tangled up with Nazis and don’t know enough about history to go for the cup of a carpenter. This is not to say that Jack Sparrow’s opponents have been anything less than blundering idiots. It is just that Indiana has never been set against someone like Jack; clever, single minded, witty, outrageously selfish, stubbornly determined, puffed-up and downtrodden at the same time. I bet Indiana not only looses the treasure but his pants too! Jack is old school. Indiana is not.
So what happened to the Daily Grudgematch?
It's been quite a while since there were any grudgematches on here.
Does anyone know?
Updates???
