Well, I couldn't wait any longer to put these two characters on the blog. And I can't promise it will be the last time, either.

Yes, in one corner we have Dwight Schrute: general know-it-all, defender of office safety and integrity, and of our nation.
In the other corner, we have Gob "Come on!" Bluth: banned magician and amateur ventriloquist.

Elvis. Bono. Both music legends. Both identifiable by just one name.

Yoda vs. Gandalf

Well, they're both clearly on the side of good--one is the White wizard, the other a Jedi Master. Today's theoretical grudgematch is between Gandalf and Yoda. Who is better? Stronger? Who wins in a head-to-head matchup?

Don't bother arguing this on the grounds of a "dance-off." This video shows that argument may already be moot.

Old Bond vs. New Bond

Today's matchup features "Old Bond," represented by Sir Sean Connery (sorry all you Moore and Brosnan fans) versus the "New Bond." The new Bond is, of course, Daniel Craig.

The question is: Which Bond is Better? The criteria is up to you.

The Hobo Rebellion vs. Rollermania

Some of you may be familiar with an important historical event that we're only now learning more about through the efforts of 'historian' John Hodgman.

Of course, I'm referring to the highly controversial HOBO REBELLION. If you're unfamiliar with this event, please see this Daily Show clip.
Now imagine that the Hobo Rebellion, in full force, came face to face with another force of nature. This one was a real, but short-lived (and tartan-clad) phenomenon known as "Rollermania"--a frenzied hysteria associated with the Scottish pop band, The Bay City Rollers.

If these two movements went head-to-head, who would prevail? It's time to throw on your kilt, freeride on a train, and debate which of these movements would emerge victorious.

Daily Grudgematch

Welcome to the Daily Grudgematch--a forum for debate on the REAL issues. OK, so not the real issues, but some made-up fun ones.

This is the idea: theoretical matchups will be placed on the site, and you the reader can analyze the relative strengths and weaknesses of each party in the matchup. Then, you comment on them and on the posts of others.

Like most ideas, this one came while discussing such a theoretical matchup in a group of friends (Kudos to John for making the comment that inspired me to start this blog). We've all done it, right? You've sat with your friends and thought: who would win in a fight between Shannen Doherty and Tonya Harding? Whose pizza is more greasy, Pizza Hut or Dominoes? Which is cooler, existentialism or transcendetalism? You get the idea. This is where we resolve those important debates.
